From the scenic highway Route 1 in Charlestown, tourists traveling south would encounter a dramatic contrast between the current 125' cell tower and the proposed pair of 410' industrial wind turbines. (artist rendition)

Whalerock Energy’s proposed project will violate Charlestown’s Comprehensive Plan and directly impact this residential neighborhood.

• The epicenter of the Whalerock industrial wind turbine project is designated by red flag “A”. Property owners abutting the site are likely to experience catastrophic losses to their property values, rendering their homes unmarketable.

• Inside the black circle, home owners are likely to suffer a -50% - 30% loss to their property values as the distance from the turbines increases.

• From the black circle to the red circle, home owners are likely to sustain a loss to property values between 25% - 12%.

• Homeowners to the west will be subject “shadow flicker” created by the mammoth turbine blades as they spin in front of the sun. There will be an impact on the resale value of the affected properties in addition to the clockwork degradation of evening sunsets.
